I've searched and cannot find the answer to this question.what i'm trying to do is prepopulate our Bug form with a set of data like:database name:url:name:password:so that when opening new bugs people will be prompted to fill in all of this information.I can do this on my own machine with a bug template. I've tried to do something similar by setting the default value of the field but I hit a max length error for the Value.Besides changing the bug form itself, is there a way to have new work items of a given type use a template and have that be broadcast team wide? Or is there another way to specify the default value for a field that accepts more (and hopefully formatted)data?Mark. Hi Mark,If you want a pop up window let users enter account and password when creating a bug, you may need to write a TFS API.If you want to set default field value, you can use work item field DEFAULT rule. For 'Besides changing the bug form itself, is there a way to have new work items of a given type use a template and have that be broadcast team wide?

A work item template (Bug template) would work if I could somehow set that as the default template for the team. As it is now, it takes the individual opening the template.I need a block of text in the Description area something like:-Client Database:Test URL:Username:Password:Repro Steps1)-Any suggestions?
